The National Trust’s Attingham Park is just 1 mile away, at the centre of which is a fine Regency mansion set in a deer park designed by Humphrey Repton. Extensive year round walking can be enjoyed in the grounds, while the mansion is open year round.
Three ruined abbeys - Haughmond, Buildwas and Wenlock - and the remains of the ancient Roman city of ‘Wroxeter’ - are close by. Eight miles to the east is the World Heritage site of Ironbridge.
To the south, are the Church Stretton Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering extensive hiking and outdoor activities. The Acton Scott estate and its Historic Working Farm can be reached within just a 25-30 minutes drive.
The ancient fortified town of Ludlow, with its Georgian architecture and fine 11th-century castle is easily accessible. Ludlow provides the setting for the famous Shakespeare Festival, in addition to antique shops, food shops and Michelin star restaurants.
